And The Bride Wore Dior...

Choosing a fragrance for our wedding day was something I put a lot of thought into. If any of you have read this blog for a while you will know that I love perfume and the way just the smell of a certain scent can take you back to a distinct moment in time.

I knew I wanted something classic, from a brand with staying power, that I knew I would be able to repurchase time after time to remind me of the most magical day. With that in mind I grabbed my mum and we hit the Debenhams beauty hall to try and find 'The One'. After what felt like a lifetime wandering round with our heads in a floral fragrance cloud I narrowed it down to Chanel and Dior as to me these are the height of luxury and also fit the 'classic' criteria.

Miss Dior stood out amongst all of the other beautiful bottles and once I smelt it I knew that was the one. It is sweet but not sickly, powerful but not too in your face. I knew it would last the day and leave a trail as I passed which is exactly what I wanted. It is also a scent that I can wear for years to come, I think a lot of perfumes tend to suit different age ranges and as I have got older the scents I liked in my teens don't appeal to me anymore. I don't think that will be the case with Miss Dior and I think it will always be a staple in my fragrance collection.

I also love that I could still smell it on my dress the next morning as I packed it away!! What perfume did you wear on your wedding day? Is it just me that feels this passionately about scents and their ability to send you off down memory lane?

My Current Perfume Obsession

For anybody that has been reading this blog for a while you will know that I love perfume and cannot resist a beautiful scent. This being said I have stopped buying myself perfume as I get so much for Christmas and my birthday it keeps me going throughout the year.

This Christmas my Grandma thought she was buying me one of my favourite perfumes - Prada Candy L'Eau, which I have worn for years and absolutely love. It turned out that she had actually picked up the original Prada Candy. I had never tried this before so had the intention of taking it back and exchanging it for the one I wear all the time but something made me smell it and I am so glad I did.

It is stronger than the L'eau version and a bit more ladylike if that makes sense, its not quite as sweet as the other one and I just love the smell. Apparently it has notes of Musk, Caramel and Benzoin (not sure what this is but it sure smells good).

I would definitely give this a try next time you are in your local Boots.

Have a great day!

My Scent of February

I haven't actually brought any fragrances this month but if I was to go out and pick one then there would be one clear winner. That winner would be the Soap &Glory Eau De Soap and Glory Original Pink. It is the classic Soap and Glory scent in a perfume and if you have read any of my previous S&G posts you will know I always say how much I love the scent.

As you know I am not the best a describing scents so I thought I would just tell you what the perfume experts have to say about it. 'Eau de Soap & Glory Original™ perfume spray with fresh citrus top notes of orange leaf, lemon, peach and sweet strawberries, with a sparkling heart of mandarin, summer rose, gardenia blooms and jasmine, resting on a soft woody base of patchouli, warm amber and lush musks.' Pretty much sums it up really.

If you love the smell of 'Hand food' and 'The Rightous Butter' then you will love this scent as much as I do and for £16.50 for 50mls at Boots why not treat yourself to a bottle this month.

Have a great day girls!

My Scent of January

I thought I would do a new series of posts on this blog called 'My scent of...' and every month I will tell you all about a perfume I am loving. I don't buy new perfumes every month but I do love going into Boots or Debenhams and smelling the different perfumes, so if I smell one that I think is really different or nice I will make it my scent of the month.

This months scent is actually one that I brought at the beginning of January and it is Vera Wang's 'Princess Night'. Now I love Vera Wang and especially her perfumes, I own 'Princess' and 'LoveStruck' and the thing that always draws me in is the packaging. 'Princess Night' is no different, the packaging for this perfume is stunning, it is in the same bottle as the original 'Princess' but is covered in black glitter. I was worried that it would cover my hands every time I picked it up but so far it hasn't come off at all.
Sorry the picture is not my own, having problems with my camera atm.
I am no good at describing scents so I will just tell you that it has heart notes of Jasmine Petals, Spicy Orange Blossom, Passion Rose, top notes of Wild Berries, Watermelon, Sweet Raspberry and base notes of Crushed Sugar, Sensual Musk, Vanilla. And I think it smells delicious.

You can buy it here
Hope your all okay

Have a great day
