Nail Varnish of the Week

First off I just wanted to say thank you to those that have subscribed to me this week it is amazing to know that some people actually like my blog and are reading it. Secondly thank you for your comments and emails and I will write back to you all at some point this week because I am so thankful you are all reading my thoughts.

Right now on to the nail varnish of the week and as always I will start with a bit about last weeks nail varnish and how it went. Last week I had 'Berry Ice Cream' on by Barry M and I don't know if I'm just leaving it too long or something but both this one and 'Peach Melba' by Barry M have really chipped by about Friday, maybe its something I'm doing or maybe they just aren't made to last. Anyway the colour is still great and lots of people told me how nice my nails looked so that was a result! I'll post a photo I took yesterday of my nails so you can see how bad they got.

On to this week and I feel like something a bit brighter and more summery to hopefully bring the sun out from behind the cloud where it is hiding at the minute. I have chosen a GOSH nail varnish this week to see if it lasts any longer than the Barry M ones so we will see what the outcome is. I also have a new top coat which is Sally Hansen's 'NailShine Miracle' and hopefully that will help with the chipping too. The GOSH colour I have gone for this week is number 570 'Peachy' which is a bright peach coral orangey sort of colour and I haven't worn this all year because I've been into my pastels so much but I thought it was time for a change.

I hope you've enjoyed this Nail Varnish of the Week and feel free to let me know what your Nail Varnish of the Week is. Oh and the ring featured this week is from Matalan and I got it on sale for £1!!!!!! I love it!!!!!!!!!

Have a great day girls

The rain is making me SPEND!!!!

I'm normally quite a happy person, I don't get moody very often and never what I would call really sad but these last few weeks in England have been AWFUL!!! For anybody reading this that is not from the UK we have had rain probably everyday for the last two weeks. Its meant to be summer and I am wearing jumpers and boots because it is soo cold. I know there is a disorder called SAD which stands for Seasonal Affective Disorder which means you suffer from a certain kind of mental illness in certain seasons but I don't have this because I am fine with rain in the autumn and winter and I can even handle it in spring because its meant to be cold and wet and windy in those seasons. I also know that we live in England and we don't have Mediterranean summers but it is July and it would be nice if we could have just a tiny bit of sun once a week maybe. You guys may hate summer and may be glad that it is cold and wet but me I like warm weather and feeling the sun on my skin. I like sitting in a pub garden with my friends on a Sunday afternoon and I like BBQ's with my family. I make plans for summer like going to the beach or picnics at the park and so far I haven't been able to do anything, BBQ's have been cancelled, picnic's rearranged and it is making me very sad. So to make myself feel better I have been shopping, a lot! And for a student currently without a job that is not a very cheap hobby to have at the moment. But I am going to stop with the rant now and apologise by telling you all about my new purchase, lucky you!

To cheer myself up after all the rain I decided to treat myself to a new lipstick, I know I'm such a devil! But I was in Boots yesterday and was looking at the 17 range and remembered ThePersianbabe from YouTube talking about one of her favourite lipsticks being from this range. The one she mentioned was 'Beehive' so I thought why not check it out and see if I like it as well. Turns out I love it, its more like a gloss than a lipstick and it left my lips so shiny and yummy looking.

The picture makes it look quite reddish and dark but I promise it is the perfect nude pinky lipstick and I may even like it more than Grace by No7 which is my all time favourite so that's how great it is. 'Beehive' is from the Mirror Shine collection and is £4.59 from Boots. I did take some close up photos of my lips but they don't look too good so here is just a few more photos to hopefully show you how much I like this.

And lets finish with a big photo of how I look today with it on shall we....Are you ready????

I hope this has made you feel a little better about the rubbish weather we have been having and maybe you should all go out and treat yourselves to a lipstick too. Let me know your favourites in a comment below. Oh I also brought a few more bits so let me know if you would like to see a little haul on here.

Have a great day girls

Nail Varnish of the Week

Hi Girls

Its Monday again so that means another nail varnish of the week. I want to start off by talking about last weeks colour which was 'Peach Melba' by Barry M. I really loved this colour and wore it all week which makes a change for me as I normally get bored and change the colour half way through but for this series I will try and keep the colour on for a whole week. I did struggle towards the end of the week though as the nail varnish chipped really badly and that's something I can't stand but i worked through it and kept it on till last night which was Sunday of course. I should have taken a photo of how it looked at the end of the week shouldn't I? Oh well I'll try and remember to do that from now on. So apart from the chipping at the end of the week I really love this colour and can't wait to wear it again.

Now on to this weeks Nail Varnish of the week. I know I said I would be using nail varnishes I had already purchase but my boyfriend brought me this one last Wednesday and I thought it was so sweet that he had actually stood at the Barry M counter and chose this colour that I had to wear it this week so he feels he has done a good job. And he really has done a good job because I love the colour which is 'Berry Ice Cream' and it is one of the new colours in the collection. When he gave it to me I thought it was exactly the same as 'Boots Ltd Edition' by Barry M but as you can see from the photo below the 'Berry Ice Cream is much more of a pastel purple.

I love the colour of this Nail Varnish and I think it will look really nice when I have a tan in a few weeks. You can get 'Berry Ice Cream' from Boots for £2.99. Here's just a photo of how it looks on my nails.

Hope you have a great day girls and check back next week for another Nail Varnish of the Week.

My Favourite...Foundation

Hi Girls

I'm starting another set of posts all focused around my favourite products so if you have any ideas then let me know. It doesn't just have to be make-up, I can do post on pretty much any of my favourite things so leave a comment or email jodienatalie@gmail.com with your ideas.

Sorry the writing is coming off and my nails look awful!
So the first product that will be featured in this section is my foundation and it is first because its the first thing I put on my face so I thought why not! I use Rimmel Match Perfection Cream Gel Foundation in 100 Ivory. I have been using this foundation since probably March I think and I have gone through two tubs of this, I love it that much!

The colour is perfect for me whilst I have a tan but I'm not sure how it will be in November time when I'm quite pale but we will see. Apparently it adapts to skins tone & texture which I would say is true as it makes your skin look really even and I may even go as far as saying it looks flawless on some occasions which is a big deal for me as I have issues with foundations and have tried so many it was a relief to find one as good as this.

My pot has almost finished again but I will definitely be buying another and unless someone brings out the miracle foundation I will not be changing for a while. When you put this on your face it feels quite wet but once it is blended it leaves your skin soft and fresh which is great. It also smells really good which is even better. The Rimmel website also claims that a long term effect of using this foundation is it will actually correct uneven skin tones not just cover them. You can purchase the Rimmel Match Perfection is available from Boots for £6.99.

Hopefully you like these favourites posts and don't forget to tell me your favourite foundation in a comment below.

Have a great day girls

Nail Varnish of the Week

I thought I would do something a bit different today and continue with it every week for the foreseeable future. I am going to do a nail varnish of the week every Monday and tell you what colour I am wearing and why I love it. I will also include a section about the previous weeks nail varnish to let you know how long it lasted, if it chipped a lot etc.

I won't be buying new nail varnish every week although there may be a few new purchases along the way. The majority of colours will be coming from this very big box of colours that I have collected.

I will try not to repeat any colours but if I do I apologise now I just can't help loving some more than others.

So as this is my first one of these there will not be a review on the polish just some pictures and why I really like it. Lets begin shall we...

The nail varnish of this week is by Barry M and it is in the colour 'Peach Melba 318'. This is a new colour from Barry M and I purchased mine from Boots for £2.99. I have quite a few Barry M nail varnishes now as they are soo cheap and most of them are such pretty colours. This is such a different colour and I don't have anything like it which is why I brought it.

The colour of the bottle is the exact same colour that comes out on your nails which is great because I really hate when you buy a bottle of nail varnish and the bottle looks gorgeous but then you put it on you nails and it looks nothing like it and your just left disappointed.

This is the perfect summer colour as it goes with everything and looks amazing with a tan. It may not be as great in winter but for now I love it! To buy this lovey pastel peach polish go to: http://www.boots.com/en/Barry-M-Nail-Paint_947704/

I hope you have enjoyed the first Nail Varnish of the Week post and make sure to look out for the next one next Monday.

Have a great day girls

Whats that smell...?

To me perfume is a daily essential and I tend to stick to the same few everyday. I know some people have loads of different bottles but I love having a signature scent that if people smell it reminds them of me, for example a friend of mine went on holiday last year with his girlfriend and she asked him to smell Vera Wang's Princess and straight away he knew it smelt like me which is impressive for a guy!
I tend to have four perfumes that I wear all the time and just alternate them. I have two what I'd call daytime scents and two evening scents.

The first daytime scent is one I have been wearing for probably 4 years now and it is as mentioned above, Vera Wang's Princess and I prefer the original although I know there is a selection now. This scent is just me and it is the one everyone I know associates with me. The bottle is beautiful and the scent lasts a really long time on my skin. Debenhams describe the scent as 'Radiant and whimsical, Vera Wang Princess is a sheer, fruity floral rich with vanilla and brimming with exotic flowers and succulent fruits. The scent sparkles with the captivating, sweet, tart aroma of delicate lady apples and dreamy water lily kissed.' You really can smell the vanilla in it but as it says the floral notes are also present and overall I just really love how girly and fresh it makes you smell. For a 100ml bottle in Debenhams this is £60.

My other favourite daytime scent is one that I don't currently have but will be buying when I go on holiday from Duty Free and it is Nina by Nina Ricci. This has similar scents as 'Princess' with both vanilla and floral notes in them however this also has middle notes of red toffee apple which in my opinion is a great smell to have in a perfume. I believe this is slightly sweeter than 'Princess' and some may find it a bit sickly but I really like it. I currently have Nina L'Elixir which I do like but its not as nice as the original in my opinion and I can't wait to get another bottle of Nina. Cheapsmells.com describes the perfume as 'A modern fairy tale. For all young women searching for surprise and fantasy… in a wonderland where dreams dress reality. Her magical perfume is a promise of charm, enchantment and seductive femininity.Top Notes: Calabrese Lemon and Lime Caipirinha. Middle Notes: Red Toffee Apple, Vanilla Infusion, Moonflower and Peony Petals.Base Notes: Apple Tree Wood, Cotton Musk and White Cedar. ' For 80mls on Cheapsmells.com this is £36.75.
Moving on to evening scents and I like my evening scents to be quite strong but still girly and sweet so with that in mind I have two favourites again. The first being Joop Thrill which to me smells like a garden on a summers night. Its floral still but much has a stronger vanilla scent than the daytime perfumes I like which I think is what makes it maybe a bit more dark and sexy than the previous two. Amazon describes the scent as 'Joop! Thrill captures the highvoltage roller-coaster ride of a nightly foray into themetropolis. Thrill for Her embodies the innocence of a sexy floral bouquet, with notes of sparkling bergamot, peach juice and rich, preciousiris infused with seductive vanilla.Top Notes: Peach Juice, Lily. Heart Notes: Mimosa, Iris. Base Notes: Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Sandalwood' . After reading this and then smelling the perfume I can actually smell the peach scent as well so overall its just a gorgeous scent that I love wearing on a night out as it lasts for hours and I like that I can smell it on myself as with some perfumes I find that I can't actually smell them on me. Amazon is selling Joop Thrill at £37.24 for 50ml.

And finally we come to my newest addition to the perfume collection and I am already in love with it, it is 'Play Intense' by Givenchy. The first thing that drew me to this perfume was the bottle as 1) Its purple which is my favourite colour and 2) It looks like a very sleek MP3 player with crystals! Once I smelt it though I was even more in love, the smell of this is just my ideal scent and I have been wearing it every night for the last 3 months. The Perfume Shop describes the scent as 'Captures the senses through irresistible enchantment. The fragrance opens on a fresh caress imagined around orange blossom, and Pink pepper. The enriched persona of the fragrance is enhanced by the warmth of Sandalwood, Tonka bean, Patchouli and Benzoin.' So the scents are quite similar in this and Joop so I guess that's why I like them both so much. The Perfume shop is selling 'Play Intense' for £64.99 for 75ml.

I know this has been a long post but I hope it hasn't been too boring and I would love to know what your favourite perfumes are or if you have tried any of the ones mentioned then please let me know what you think of them.

Hope your having a great weekend girls.
