Long awaited E.L.F haul

I've had these products for about a month and a half now but keep putting off posting about them. There isn't a particular reason for this I just keep forgetting. So here we go, I won't ramble on about them but I will just say I haven't used the products as much as I thought I would so I am overall a little disappointed and glad I didn't spend too much on them.

The first two items are make-up brushes, I've got quite a few brushes now so I may do a make-up brush collection post soon. I don't like buying expensive brushes because sometimes I think they may be a waste of money, Saying that whilst I was in Las Vegas I did buy a Sephora Make-up Brushes set which I am excited to show you. The 2 brushes I got from e.l.f were the blending eye brush and the lip defining brush and both cost me £1.50 which i think is a bargain. I've used the concealer brush for about a year now and I love it so I thought I would pick up a couple more.

The eye shadow brush is one of the products I haven't really used. I think its a good brush but I didn't really need another eye shadow brush so it ended up being a bit of a waste of money. I have however just started using it to blend my concealer and I like the effect its giving.

The Lip brush is the most used thing that I brought, I have used it nearly every day since and I don't know why I didn't own a lip brush before. I now have two so I can alternate them.

The plumping lip glaze was a freebie when you ordered and there wasn't many colours left so i went for the colour I felt I would wear most. The colour is in mauve berry and since I ordered mine lots more colours have come out so I may buy some more. The tube is double ended with the lip plumping treatment in the white end which is very minty but not sure how much it actually plumps your lips and the coloured gloss in the other end. Its a nice product but is a bit sticky.

The next thing I got was the raved about blush and bronze compact, there have been soo many reviews about this, claiming it is a dupe for Nars 'Laguna' and 'Orgasm' however after using the compact for a while I can't say I am that impressed. The bronzer can be quite dark if you are not careful whereas the blush doesn't show up unless you paste it on. If you get the application right however it is a really nice product and for £3.50 you can't really moan can you.

The final product was a set of the Individual Lash Kits , I purchased these to wear at my 21st birthday party but after trying to put them on for half an hour I gave up and shoved them in my draw. I'm sure if i could have put them on they would have looked really good but it just wasn't going right that night. I may try again and let you know if I have any more luck.

Hope you have a great day girls!

I feel inspired...

After a good few weeks of being the worst blogger in the world I have finally got my inspiration back and cannot wait to get back into a good routine. So over the next few days you will be getting very sick of me! I've had enough of boring update posts and need to get back to reviews and OOTD's (which I am going to try and make a bit more fashionable because I have slipped into a boring routine).

This is just a photo to make this a less wordy post, the dress is one of my favourites and I brought it from River Island almost a year ago in a sale for £20 and I love it. Ignore the face though because 1 too many vodka's is not going to make for an attractive face.

Bad Bad Blogger...

These last few weeks have been soo busy for me and unfortunately my poor little blog has been the one to suffer! I have missed blogging soo much lately and I have soo much I want to talk about I just haven't had time to sit down and actually do it. I have a couple of days at home now before I go to Las Vegas on Thursday so hopefully I can get a few posts up before then and I promise I will be back on form starting in two weeks.

I though I would use this post as an update kind of thing just to let you know why I have been so busy and also tell you all about what I have planned for the next few week because it is coming up to my favourite time of the year...CHRISTMAS!!! I love everything christmassy and have already started Christmas shopping so lots to tell you there.

So the main thing that has been distracting me lately has been work. I got a new job 2 weeks ago and since then I have not had one day off so of course any time I am at home I have been either sleeping, doing my assignments for university or spending time with my family and friends. I love my job, its working in a new clothes store a few miles away from me and I'm really enjoying it but I am glad I have the next two weeks off  because I have so much uni work to do. That leads me on to another thing that has been keeping me busy...University. I have just gone onto my second year of a business degree and the work load has pretty much doubled since last year so I am having to work really hard just to get it all done on time. That said I am still really enjoying it and its great to be back after the summer and see all my friends again.

That's enough of whats been distracting me, I have had a bit of fun these last two weeks it hasn't all been work so here are a few photos of what I have been up to lately.

My 21st Birthday Party

Me and my best friend at my 21st

Halloween

Fireworks

At the fireworks display
Now on to what I have planned for all you lovely followers before Christmas! I have so many ideas going through my head that I don't know if I will get it all done before Christmas but I really hope so. This will be easier if I just list what's going to be on here soon.
  • A pretty big haul from ELF which I've actually had for about 3 weeks.
  • Las Vegas review and probably a HUGE haul when I get home.
  • More Nail Varnish of the Weeks however I've just started having cal gel put on my nails which lasts a few weeks so it may not be up every week.
  • Christmas gift ideas for girls and boys because I always find other versions of these always include really expensive gifts so this will be a bit of a lower budget version.
  • Christmas wrapping - I have decided to wrap my gifts a bit different this year so I will show you all what I'm doing with that.
  • A Christmas Giveaway will give one lucky follower the chance to win a special Christmas present from me
  • Reviews on quite a few new products
  • Christmas Party outfits - Photos of what I will be wearing to a few Christmas parties this year.
Please let me know what you think of these ideas and if there are any other things you would like me to do in the run up to Christmas. Sorry for the extremely long post and thanks for sticking with me over the last few week.

Have a great day girls

I want one of those...

I have just fallen in love with the new Nails inc collection! They have collaborated with gossip girl which is my favourite TV show ever (my favourite character is Blair if your asking) and have brought out 3 gorgeous sets. The 3 sets are named after Blair, Serena and Lily and all come with a base colour and an effect polish which all look beautiful. I think my favourite may be the Serena one but of course I would stay loyal to Blair and purchase that one too.
The Blair Collection - Photo from Nails Inc

The Lily Collection - Photo from Nails Inc

The Serena Collection - Photo from Nails Inc

At £20 a set I probably won't be buying them all myself but with Christmas coming up they would make great stocking fillers so I will be putting them on my wish list. Enjoy the photos and let me know which one you prefer.

Review: Montagne Jennesse Damask Rose

For my birthday I was given a tube of Montagne Jennesse Damask Rose so I thought I would do a quick review on it. I have tried different face masks from this company before but they have always been the ones in the sachets that are for one time use, so I thought having one in a tube was a good idea as it says on the packaging it contains up to 10 uses.

As you can tell this mask is in a rose flavour and says that it is an ultra deep cleansing masque. The formula is a thin cream/ lotion which smells amazing and I sat happily smelling the aroma for the 15-20 minutes it takes to dry. Once dried I just washed it off with warm water and my skin felt amazing! It was so soft and look really clean which I like from a mask.

Overall I really like this product and may even buy some different ones that do different things. It doesn't state on the packaging if the product is for dry or oily skin but I think you could use it whatever your skin type because it is just a nice treat to use to pamper yourself once a week.

Review: Garnier BB Cream

When I first heard Garnier were bringing out a BB cream I was very excited as I had heard great things about the BB creams and really wanted to try one. The cream is meant to be a miracle cream that offers 5 effects in one cream. The packaging states it will

1. Unify skin's complexion
2. Give a healthy glow
3.Leave skin luminous and radiant
4.Hide redness
5.Moisturise

The cream also has SPF15 in to help protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays. So does it live up to all they hype? I have to say for me it didn't, I was so disappointed with this product. To start with it does not give any directions of use on the packaging so I just had to make it up as I went along. Another problem was the colour of the product, I brought the colour light but it makes me look orange and I have just got back off holiday so I have a tan and it still looks orange so I would hate to think what I would look like if I wore it when my tan fades. The biggest issue I have with the product though is that it made my skin so greasy that the rest of my make up just looked awful on top of it. I tried wearing it on its own and it gave me no real coverage just made me have greasy orange skin, I then tried using foundation over the top and it just looked horrible. I really wish I hadn't wasted £8 on this product because I am just so disappointed.

Of course this is just my opinion and you may really like this product but just beware of the negative points I have mentioned before you buy it. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone with even the slightest oily skin as it will just make the problem even worse. There was however one thing I really did like about this product and that was the smell! It smells so good so I am going to see if any Garnier moisturisers smell the same because it is really nice. Sorry this is such a negative post but I like to always give honest reviews and unfortunately this product just wasn't right for me.

NVOTW

Time for another nail varnish of the week and as it is now autumn I though I would move away from the bright summer colours and get a little bit darker. This colour was actually a present from my boyfriend for my birthday and I love it. It is 'Raspberry' by Barry M and is a gorgeous deep pink that in some lights looks red...Perfect for fall!

Whats your nail varnish this week?

No7 Radiance Boosting Hot Cloth Cleanser

I was in boots this week looking for another tube of the Soap and Glory Hot Cloth Cleanser when I saw that No7 also do their own version of this. Since I had a £5 off voucher for No7 I decided for £4 I may as well try it and see how it compares. I did say I was going to try the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser but I haven't been anywhere lately that sells it but when I see it I will pick up a small bottle just so I can compare it.

I have only use the No7 one for a few days but overall I am quite impressed. The product is nice and thick so feels quite luxurious when I put it on and it smells really nice too which is good because one of the things I didn't like about the Soap and Glory one was the smell. Once massaged in to your face you just rub it off with the Muslin cloth that is included in the pack, this muslin cloth is a lot harder than the one I had with soap and Glory so gives a harsher exfoliation which for me is fine but be careful if you have sensitive skin. When the product was removed I was left with lovely soft and clean skin. Although the product says it is radiance boosting I haven't really seen any evidence of that yet but I will keep you updates.

Over all it is a really good cleanser and I am glad I got it but I am still craving the Liz Earle one to compare so once I finish this bottle I will definitely buy it to compare for you. This does however beat the Soap and Glory Hot Cloth cleanser.

I got NAKED!!!

I know its old news now and every blogger out there has done a post about the Urban Decay Naked Palette but I'm afraid this is going to be another one. I wasn't going to buy this until November when I go to Las Vegas and it had been pretty easy resisting up until now because every time I look for it it has been sold out. This was until I stepped on to my plane to Cyprus and read the in-flight sales magazine and it was there screaming out to me. I was good though and said no when the air hostess came past with the trolley, and I got off the plane empty handed. Big mistake! I desperately wanted it when I was on holiday and looked in all the make up shops over there with no luck so as soon as I got on the plane to come home I asked the air hostess for one expecting her to say they had sold out but she had one left so I snapped it up.

I know everyone has said how amazing it is but honestly it is the most amazing set of make-up I have ever had. The colours are soo gorgeous and you can do so many looks with them. I have had it a week now and I have used it in a different way everyday. I've done a simple brown neutral eye and I've also used it for a dark smokey black eye. Overall I am so glad I didn't wait till November to get this else I would missed out on two months of perfect eye make up.

I won't bore you with loads of photos as I'm sure you have all seen it a hundred times but I will just show you my favourite neutral eye look that I create using the colours. I use Naked all over the lid then put Buck on the outer corner and in the crease, I finish with Smog under my lower lash line. I also use Buck for my eyebrows.

Do any of you own this? If so what are your favourite colours??

Miscellaneous:

Eyeshadow blending brushes

2. Name a makeup crime that you hate when people do?

Having the wrong colour foundation so they are either orange or ghostly white. Never a good look.

3. Where does most of your makeup come from?

Mostly from Boots as they have such a big collection of different brands

4. How do you make money to buy makeup or beauty products?

My job in a clothes store and my boyfriend buys me some as presents

5. Do you use a deep conditioning treatment? If so, what kind?

I use Aussies 3 Minute hair treatment

6. Would you leave the house without makeup on?

If I'm not going anywhere special or I'm just going from my house to my boyfriends then I don't wear any

7. What color are your nails right now?

Red Carpet by Rimmel

8. Do your toes match your fingernails?

Nope my toe nails are always a dark colour, normally black unless I'm going on holiday.
9. Where are most of your clothes from?

Probably New Look or Miss Selfridge, I'm definitely a high street girl

10. Do you care about whats "in" right now, or just wear and try whatever you love?

I prefer to dress for my body shape rather than whats in right now because I just see it as a waste of money buying things that don't look right on me and then never wear them. I like to keep my clothes pretty classic and then make them more on trend with accessories.

I tag all of you to do this and let me know so I can go and read them all.

Have a great day

Back to reality...

I am home from my holiday and thought I should do a quick update on whats going on with me. My holiday was amazing but I feel like I left in the middle of summer and have come home to winter it is that cold. I'm not moaning though because the next few months are always my favourite as I have so many exciting things to look forward to.

It is my 21st birthday in a few weeks so that is very exciting and I'm sure I will be keeping you all updated with all the lovely things that I will be doing. I am also starting back at university at the end of the month which will mean lots more work but I get to see some of my best friends again who I haven't seen all summer. Then it is Halloween which I know some people think isn't a real holiday but I love it and always get dressed up and go to a party so maybe I will do a post on Halloween costume ideas. I'm going to Las Vegas in November to celebrate both mine and my boyfriends 21st birthdays which I cannot wait for. We have been waiting over a year for it now and I just know it is going to be an amazing trip which we will always remember. Then finally it will be Christmas! Christmas is my favourite time of the year, not just Christmas day but the whole of December really. I am the kind of person who starts Christmas shopping in October and listening to Christmas songs in November. I drive all my friends and family mad but I don't care because it is the best time of the year.

So there you have it, I have just wrapped up the rest of the year in a paragraph. I have so many ideas for new posts over the next few months but as always if you have any requests just let me know and I'm sure I can do those for you as well. There will be a Nail Varnish of the Week next Monday and then it will be back to normal again which I am looking forward to as there will be a lot more autumnal colours coming in now. Oh and if any of you are from Las Vegas or have visited please let me know if there is anything you recommend doing whilst we are out there. We're going for 5 days so hopefully we will get a lot done. I think that is all the updating that needed doing. Look out for lots of new posts in the next few weeks and don't forget to follow so I can get to know you all, it makes my day when I get a new follower.

Nail Varnish of the Week

This weeks NVOTW is a little bit different for two reasons. The first reason as that it has been posted on a Sunday instead of a Monday, this is because I am flying out to Cyprus first thing in the morning and didn't think I would have time to do this before I go so to save all the rushing I thought I would just post it today instead.
The second reason this post will be different is because it won't feature my finger nails. When I go away I either have acrylic nails put on or I just leave them bare to let them grow. This time I have just put some Sally Hansen 'Hard as Nails' on my finger nails to try and make them grow nice and strong. I didn't want to not do a NVOTW this week though because I won't be doing one next week so I have just given myself a beach ready pedicure so I will just show you that instead. WARNING: Theses pictures include feet!!!

The colour I have chosen to wear on my toes whilst I'm away is by Rimmel and it is from their 60 Seconds range in the colour '430 Coralicious' which is a gorgeous hot pink coral. I think this colour will look amazing with a tan and flip flops.

Oh the amazing pink from last week is now officially my favourite colour and it also lasted really well so 5* from my!

I have soo many posts for you when I get back so prepare to be spoilt!!! Oh an I want to do a Q&A when I get back so email me or leave a comment with any questions or requests.

Have a great 2 weeks girls!
