My Scent of February

I haven't actually brought any fragrances this month but if I was to go out and pick one then there would be one clear winner. That winner would be the Soap &Glory Eau De Soap and Glory Original Pink. It is the classic Soap and Glory scent in a perfume and if you have read any of my previous S&G posts you will know I always say how much I love the scent.

As you know I am not the best a describing scents so I thought I would just tell you what the perfume experts have to say about it. 'Eau de Soap & Glory Original™ perfume spray with fresh citrus top notes of orange leaf, lemon, peach and sweet strawberries, with a sparkling heart of mandarin, summer rose, gardenia blooms and jasmine, resting on a soft woody base of patchouli, warm amber and lush musks.' Pretty much sums it up really.

If you love the smell of 'Hand food' and 'The Rightous Butter' then you will love this scent as much as I do and for £16.50 for 50mls at Boots why not treat yourself to a bottle this month.

Have a great day girls!

Tag: The 7 Deadly Sins of Beauty.

I thought I would do a nice easy post today, I've seen this tag on youtube a lot recently so I thought I would give it a go.

1. GREED:
  • What is your most inexpensive beauty item?
My most inexpensive beauty item that I use on a regular basis is my Natural Collection 'Sun Tint Bronzing Powder' which is £1.99 from Boots. I have been using this bronzer for over a year now and am on my third pot of it which shows how much i love it. I tend to use it more in the winter as it doesn't show up as well when I'm tanned.
  •  What is your most expensive?

The most expensive beauty item I own is my Naked pallet which I adore and it is so worth the £32 I paid for it. I use it every day and would be lost without it.
2. WRATH:
  • What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?
The beauty product that I have a love/hate relationship with is my Garnier 'BB cream'. I love the concept of this product and think it would be such a good alternative to foundation in the summer for me but I just hate the formulation and the way it looks on my skin.
  • What product has been the hardest to get?
The product which I have found the hardest to get is again my Naked pallet from Urban Decay. I got mine about 2 months after everybody else because I just couldn't find it anywhere near me and it was sold out online. It was only when I flew to Cyprus last summer that I saw it in the in-flight duty free magazine and HAD to buy it!

3. GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?

By delicious I assume it means the smell and not the taste as nothing I own tastes that good. But I love my soap and glory 'Hand food' and 'The righteous butter'. They both have the signature Soap & Glory smell and it is one of my favourite scents ever.

4. SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?

The one product that I neglect when I really shouldn't is primer. I have quite oily skin so when I do use primer it really helps. I ran out of the primer I was using a few months ago and keep forgetting to repurchase it. I really will go get a new one this week I just have to choose a good one first so any recommendations would be great.

5. PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?

Mascara gives me the most self confidence. I love having dramatic sexy eyelashes and I think it makes eyes look even more gorgeous if you have a coat or two of mascara on.

6. LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

I always look at a boys eyes and smile before anything else. If a boy smiles and laughs then he will always be more attractive than someone who doesn't.

7. ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?

Right now I am in love with Nars Blush bronzer trio so if anybody fancies sending one of those my way I would be extremely grateful. If not maybe I'll treat myself next payday :)

Of course I tag all of you to do this and let me know so that I can go read yours!

Have a great day

No7 Radiance Boosting Hot Cloth Cleanser

I was in boots this week looking for another tube of the Soap and Glory Hot Cloth Cleanser when I saw that No7 also do their own version of this. Since I had a £5 off voucher for No7 I decided for £4 I may as well try it and see how it compares. I did say I was going to try the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser but I haven't been anywhere lately that sells it but when I see it I will pick up a small bottle just so I can compare it.

I have only use the No7 one for a few days but overall I am quite impressed. The product is nice and thick so feels quite luxurious when I put it on and it smells really nice too which is good because one of the things I didn't like about the Soap and Glory one was the smell. Once massaged in to your face you just rub it off with the Muslin cloth that is included in the pack, this muslin cloth is a lot harder than the one I had with soap and Glory so gives a harsher exfoliation which for me is fine but be careful if you have sensitive skin. When the product was removed I was left with lovely soft and clean skin. Although the product says it is radiance boosting I haven't really seen any evidence of that yet but I will keep you updates.

Over all it is a really good cleanser and I am glad I got it but I am still craving the Liz Earle one to compare so once I finish this bottle I will definitely buy it to compare for you. This does however beat the Soap and Glory Hot Cloth cleanser.

Have a great day girls

My Daily Skincare Routine

So today I thought I would tell you about my daily skin routine and I know I have done a full review on the Soap & Glory Hot Cloth Cleanser which I use everyday but I thought I would tell you about the other products I am using at the moment. Now I am currently using quite expensive products which i was given but my skin is in such good condition and I think this is partly down to the hot cloth cleanser but mostly down to these products so if you are fortunate enough to be able to afford these then I would definitely recommend them.
In the morning if I feel my skin is still a bit dirty from the night before I will use the Hot Cloth Cleanser by Soap & Glory, however most mornings my skin is fine and just needs a basic cleanse and moisturiser. So the first product I have been using recently is the Decleor Cleansing Milk which is lovely. It has a really nice scent as well because it has essential oils and waters in it. The ingredients say it has lavender, orange and kiwi scents in it which I love. I just rub this all over my face with my fingertips and then wipe off with a cotton pad and you would be amazed at the dirt that comes off even though I take my make up off a night. Its quite gross really!

Then i pour some of the Decleor Tonifying Lotion on to a cotton pad and wipe it all over my face. This is just like water and just makes my skin feel so fresh and clean. It has the same scent as the Cleansing Milk so again I love it. Both of these Decleor products are available from the Decleor website and are £19.50 for 250ml which is not bad for such amazing products but I know its not exactly cheap when you buy both products a few times a year. The final step in my skincare routine in the mornings is to moisturise. Currently I am using the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Intensive Daily Moisturiser for Face SPF 15 which I love but at £28 for 50ml it is definitely not something I can afford to keep using whilst I'm a student. This product makes my skin soo soft and although I have quite oily skin this does not make my skin greasy at all and soaks in so quickly. The only issue I have with this product is the smell. Because it is part of the Eight Hour collection it has a similar smell to the original Eight Hour cream which although it is a miracle worker, STINKS! This moisturiser is nowhere near as bad as that but it does have a softer version of the scent. It isn't an issue though as the good points definitely out weigh the bad and I will be soo upset when my tube of this runs out because it will be a while till I can afford another one.
Eight Hour Moisturiser - Not my picture
At night before I go to bed I remove all my make-up with the hot cloth cleanser and then slather Nivea Soft moisturising cream all over my face. My mum has used this moisturiser for years and she has amazing skin so I'm hoping it will have the same effect on me. It does make my skin a bit greasy though which is why i wear it at night, its also a lot thicker than the one I use during the day so I like it much better as a night moisturiser. This is available almost everywhere I just get mine when my mum does the weekly shopping from Tescos and it is £3.88 for a big 200ml pot which lasts ages.

I hope you have found this interesting and if you try any of these products let me know what you think of them or if you have an amazing skincare product that you want to tell me about just leave a comment or email me.

Soap & Glory Mini-series - Hand Food

*I did not take this photo

I LOVE this product and think I will be buying this for a very long time. I actually brought this for my mum a few weeks ago and somehow it has ended up in my handbag with half the contents gone already ( I promise I will replace it for my mum). This is the perfect hand cream, its not too greasy but it makes your hands feel really moisturised and as if you've used a real luxury product on them. The smell of this hand cream is SO good I could eat it which is always a good thing to have in a product. This product is only £2.35 for 50ml which is the perfect size for your handbag and it is also available in a larger size to keep at home which I may purchase as well just so there is no chance of me running out!
This is the last product i have to review from the Soap & Glory range and if i could persuade you to buy one product it would be this one as everybody can use it and I think everyone will love it. I hope you have enjoyed this little mini-series and let me know if you'd like me to do something like this again then feel free to let me know.

Soap & Glory Mini-series - Glow Job

*Not my picture

I was quite excited when I purchased this product as I thought it was a really good idea. This is the Soap & Glory Glow Job daily radiance moisture lotion with built in micro-bronzer beads. This is basically a moisturiser with tiny granules of a bronzer that pop when you rub it in. The colour that comes from this product is a nice sun kissed bronze however it does need blending in really well else you will be left with bronze streaks on your face. I have tried using it in two ways, the first was rubbing it in my hands to pop the beads and then rub into my face and the second was putting it straight on my face. I think the product worked better when i rubbed it between my fingers first and left quite a subtle tan on my face which I likes, don't forget to use it on your neck as well though so that the colour matches!
This is meant to be a moisturising lotion and no matter how much of the product I used my skin always felt dry after using it and it also caused my foundation to sort of peel off which is not what I look for in a moisturiser.
I am not going to forget about this product though as I really do like the concept of this and think it may be better in the summer when I have a natural tan and do not need to wear foundation over the top of this. I may also take it on holiday with me for the evenings so I will let you know how it goes then.
As with the other products this is from boots and is £8.17 for 75ml and all are 3 for 2 at the moment. If you have any recommendations of other Soap & Glory products you think I would enjoy or you would like to see reviews on I will be going to buy some more products in the next few weeks so leave a comment.

Soap & Glory mini series

To kickstart this mini series I thought I should start with my favourite product that I own of the Soap & Glory brand. I love the Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser from the range which is available at boots and is £9.19 although currently it is 3 for 2 on all skincare so I am planning on stocking up on these.
* I did not take this picture.

I have never used a cleanser like this before, you put it straight onto your skin with all your make-up still on and just rub it in for about a minute. The consistency is quite a thick cream which is very soft and velvety to put on your skin. Once the product has been massaged into your skin leave for another minute and then remove with the muslin cloth the comes with the product soaked in warm water. If I am wearing quite alot of make-up or particulaly dark eye make-up I would do this twice just to make sure my skin is as clean as possible. After rinsing my face i just pat with a dry towel and my skin feels super soft and you can tell just from looking at it how clean it really is. I love this product and have gone through a whole tube already, I not too keen on the smell of it which is quite a strong lavender scent but because I know how great it makes my skin feel I can put up with the smell for a couple of minutes a day. Since I've been using the product I've seen a real difference in the number of spots I have gotten which is proof enough for me that it is working.

I do know that the Liz Earle brand does have a similar product which I haven't tried yet but I have heard amazing things about that so maybe I will buy that soon and do a kind of 'which is best?' post just to give you a bit more information.

Anyway I hope you find this useful and look out for more of these Soap & Glory posts as they will be coming very shortly! As always if there are any products you would like me to review just let me know.

Have a great day girls!

The Soap & Glory Story

*This is not my own photo

Up until a few months ago I had never tried a Soap & Glory product I am ashamed to say. I have missed out on some amazing skin care! I think it was 3 months ago that I purchased a few of their products after seeing a review about one product in particular which was the Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser. I love this product!!!!!! I have used it at least once a day since I purchased it and I am now coming to the end of my first tube so I will definitely be running to boots to stock up on them. At the same time as purchasing the cleanser I also brought their facial scrub The Greatest of  All and the moisture lotion Glow Job. I love the facial scrub and it has been a staple in my shower routines every morning and the moisturiser is a fantastic idea. I have also just recently purchased the Hand Food hand cream which i am now addicted to and it lives in my handbag :)

Now for those of you who haven't tried any Soap & Glory products before I thought I could do a little mini series about the products I own so you can read what I think about them and maybe even go out and purchase a few products. If you are a Soap & Glory user please let me know what your must have products are because I cannot wait to try out more of the range but have no idea where to start! So comment or send me an email.

Thanks Girls
